We appreciate with the global concerns around Covid-19 at the moment, you are probably incredibly busy trying to plan and redirect resource. Of course, the day-to-day clinical requirements are quite rightly the priority.
However we wanted to let you know exactly what My Healthcare Recruit is doing to support our clients and other employers like you at this stressful time, given that we will more than likely need these nurses more than ever in 3, 6 or 9 months’ time.
We have been working incredibly hard over the past few weeks to ensure nurses can still arrive in the UK, despite the travel bans – booking and rebooking flights to try to get them here. Many of these routes have now been exhausted, but we are extremely conscious that stopping recruitment altogether will undoubtedly have a detrimental impact in the future.
Therefore, there are number of things we are doing to make international recruitment as easy as possible for employers in the current climate, including:
- We’re offering to facilitate all interviews with candidates (using your preferred questions), and recording the interviews so that time-pressured clinical staff can watch them at the most convenient time (regardless of time zones etc) and they can even speed them up so a 20 minute interview usually could be listened to in 10 minutes.
- We can set up pre-tests for candidates to help employers make even more informed decisions about candidates.
- Despite the various lockdowns, we are continuing to support candidates through the process in terms of interviews, prepping for their CBT and compliance paperwork so that we don’t lose momentum.
- Where hospitals have a skeleton staff and are worried about being able to support new joiners appropriately, we are stepping in to provide online OSCE training, virtual OSCE training, off-site OSCE training, and additional pastoral care including weekly “Virtual Hangouts”.
We’d like to think we can make your life easier rather than harder at a difficult time.
With this in mind, we are always happy to discuss the urgent vacancy gaps that you possibly have as we already have candidates in line for the first visa appointments after lockdown so they are at the front of the queue!
